When your school adopts Developing Roots or think!Mathematics, we
offer a detailed onboarding process to ensure a seamless transition.
Our aim is to boost teacher confidence by building a profound
understanding of the programs’ role in student learning. The process
begins with a comprehensive review of the methodology, lesson
structure, and curricular resources. Teachers are then guided to apply
practical strategies to plan effective lessons, including understanding
unit concepts, planning a lesson or a whole unit, and identifying
assessment opportunities. Through this process, teachers will not only
grasp the curriculum but also acquire the skills to deliver captivating
and effective lessons that boost student learning.
Format Options: In-Person | Virtual (Live) (Pre-recorded)
Following the onboarding process, we offer coaching sessions to
further support your professional growth. These sessions, scheduled
throughout the school year, are designed to provide a proactive
approach to teaching. During these sessions, we’ll preview concepts
and learning methods in advance, helping to address anticipated
student misconceptions and strategize the best ways to teach and
assess these concepts. The coaching sessions are a collaborative effort
between the teacher, school-based math specialist, or leadership,
and the coach, aiming to set and meet goals related to both teacher
performance and student outcomes. By participating in these
coaching sessions, you’ll not only enhance your teaching skills but also
contribute to improving student learning and performance.

1. Needs Assessment
Begin by identifying specific areas where teachers
require support. This could encompass subject
matter expertise, instructional strategies, or
developing an onboarding plan.
2. Collaborative Development
Once you’ve identified the areas of need, work
closely with one of our leaders to design a package
that aligns with your school’s needs.
3. Differentiated Plan
Create personalized learning plans for individuals or
teams of teachers. These plans should be tailored to
their professional goals and could include a mix of
workshops, coaching, on-site learning labs, online
courses, and self-directed learning opportunities.
