    October 6, 2022 - October 7, 2022
    8:00 am - 3:00 pm

Date: October 6 – 7, 2022

Location: The Westminster School; Atlanta, Georgia

Theme: Perseverance Through Problem Solving

The focus for our lesson study at The Westminster School will be on building students’ perseverance through the design of a lesson that engages students in teaching mathematics through problem solving.

In person and virtual participants will meet with authors, Sarah Schaefer and Dr. Yeap Ban Har to review key aspects of the lesson focus as well as what to observe when Dr. Yeap conducts a think!Mathematics lesson in each classroom. We will then debrief each lesson, reflecting on observable evidence related to the lesson study theme as well as any improvements that can be made for the lessons that will be taught in the future. Through this process, teachers will be involved in a rich learning experience where all will walk away with a renewed depth of knowledge of effective practices of mathematics instruction in the elementary classroom.

Whether you choose to join us in-person or virtually, this will be a meaningful learning experience!
